The Limes is a stunning country house set on a hill in two and half acres of grounds, and located along a quiet and peaceful country lane.  It has the benefit of beautiful views overlooking fields and the picturesque village of Great Chesterford.  The house provides the most luxurious and comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation.

After a warm welcome, guests can begin to relax and enjoy a pot of tea and piece of home-made cake in our lovely drawing room.  You can then begin to plan your stay using our many guide books and the best of our local knowledge.

The accommodation provides a king-size bed with beautiful cream linen, French-style furniture, a flat-screen colour TV, internet access, hairdryer and other items to make your stay even more comfortable.  On the tea tray you will find mineral water, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, crisps and biscuits.  The en-suite shower room provides soft, fluffy white towels and a full range of luxury toiletries.  Guests are able to take advantage of relaxing in the drawing room after a delicious Aga-cooked breakfast.

Apart from the historic market town of Saffron Walden, there are many other local attractions to visit that include Audley End House (English Heritage), the Imperial War Museum at Duxford, Wimpole Hall (National Trust), Newmarket Racecourse and, of course, the University City of Cambridge. 

The Limes is situated on the Cambridge/Essex border, within 4 miles of Saffron Walden and 10 miles of Cambridge, with easy access to the M11 and Stansted Airport (20 minutes away).  Main line trains run from Great Chesterford to London and take less than an hour.
